Leading Chronicled: Blockchain in 2019

2019 has just started, and is already preparing to be an exciting year. I want to share some reflections on the exciting work we are doing to bring blockchain based solutions to Life Science companies, and what lies ahead.

It is hard to imagine this all started just over two years ago. Eric Garvin and I, in the throes of helping companies get compliant with DSCSA regulations, sought out the appropriate partner to explore if blockchain could be a valuable technology to help bring the necessary interoperability to the industry. We joined the Chronicled team in 2017, and the combination of industry knowledge and blockchain expertise has proven a winning combination.

We have moved past the hype of blockchain to identify how to best use the technology to solve real business problems. Despite a lot of recent press espousing the decline of cryptocurrencies and blockchain, we only see exciting opportunities for the potential of this technology that allows trading partners and competitors to enforce cross-industry business rules in a trusted network.

With the closing of our Series A financing, we are looking ahead to the launch of commercial solutions in 2019. I am excited by this step of growth at the company with Ryan Orr stepping up from CEO to Chairman of Chronicled’s Board to continue driving our vision, and giving me the opportunity as CEO to ensure our success in Pharma while preparing for additional industry opportunities. Chronicled’s extraordinary team has delivered on the promise of what blockchain can do for industries, and as we grow the team we are excited to to not only deliver on the existing projects but also identify additional opportunities to create value for businesses in ways not possible with prior technology.

I’m excited to see how Chronicled will grow in this next phase and look forward to continuing to build upon our goal of delivering on the promise of blockchain.
